The MMA program consists of striking, grappling,
and the combination of the two.

The striking portion incorporates knees, kicks, punches, and elbows. The striking theory is based on western boxing, Jeet Kune Do, and Muay Thai boxing. Striking is developed at long, medium, and short ranges. Students are instructed to strike in combinations using both kicks and punches (kickboxing) and close range striking (striking from the clinch). Striking defense is based on the quadrant system of lines or zones from which proper responses are reflexively trained. Other elements incorporated include evasiveness (ducking, slipping, bobbing and weaving) countering (parrying, jamming, stop-hitting, counter-time), timing training, and awareness training.

The grappling portion of the class incorporates judo, jiu-jitsu, and catch as-catch can wrestling. Students are instructed in proper transitioning from long and medium range striking to close range grappling to facilitate a takedown and ground control. Furthermore, students are instructed in the submission of the opponent from joint locking or carotid restriction as well as the submission of the opponent from striking from the ground position. Students are instructed in submissions, counters, and chaining submission attempts.

Supplemental instruction by Mr. Freer includes trapping, kali stick and knife, mental conditioning, and physical conditioning.
